School Timetable Generator – Weekly Schedule
Week Structure:
Mon–Fri: 8 periods/day; Sat: 5 periods/day (Period 1 reserved for MD); Sun:
Off.
Teacher Input:
– Core teachers: One period per class per day, with the slot varying
(unless forced as a class teacher). (On Saturday, assignments occur from
Period 2 onward.)
– Non-Core teachers: A weekly target (within your specified min/max;
if class name is numeric 1–5, minimum is 2) is evenly distributed (skipping
Period 1 on Saturday).
– Language teachers: Instead of a fixed slot, you provide a fixed total
number of periods per day (for each class they cover). The system will evenly
distribute these assignments across different classes on a rotating (round-robin)
basis so that not always the same classes get the assignment each day.
– Class Teacher: Teachers designated as the class teacher for a class
(via “Class Teacher For”) are forced into Period 1 for that class on Mon–Fri.
– Saturday Special: On Saturday, assignments are made only in
Periods 2–5 and each teacher’s total Saturday assignments (across all classes)
is capped at 3 slots; Period 1 is reserved exclusively for MD.
Global Timetable (Grid Format):
The Global Timetable is rendered as a grid with a two-level header. The top header
row shows “Class” (rowspan=2) and, for each day (Mon–Sat), a merged header spanning 8
columns; the second header row lists “P1” to “P8” for each day. Each row represents
one class, and each cell displays the assignment (formatted as “teacher (subject)”) for
that class at that day/period (or “-” if none). (On Saturday, though only 5 periods are
available, 8 columns are shown with extra columns displaying “-”.)
Other Timetables:
Separate Class-wise and Teacher-wise timetables (with fixed columns) are generated, and
you have Export and Print buttons.
